DeSantis partners with an SC state legislator with a very problematic record
On April 19, 2023, Ron DeSantis will take a short trip to Upstate South Carolina to speak at what is being called "The Florida Blueprint." This would imply that the event organizers see DeSantis' policies as a good idea for their own state, or even for the country as a whole.
Curious, however, is the Florida Governor’s willingness to partner with South Carolina State Senator Josh Kimbrell for the event. Kimbrell was arrested in 2014 for allegedly molesting his own three year old son - though the case was later dropped for lack of evidence. More recently, Kimbrell’s business was fined more than $100,000 for violating regulations. Even more since, Kimbrell and his business partner were sued for nearly $1 million in a fraud case which was settled outside of court.
DeSantis appears to be taking a page out of Donald Trump’s playbook - using cronyism to grasp at power from the pit of a failed, dying, aging political platform.
